Hi, following is an abstract of our livings on FOSDEM2010, I have tried to sort it chronologically but due pics and videos are from different sources,there are more than 150 pics and more than 60 vid and there beer runs like water and as you can notice there, english is not my language, I beg you to forgive me the wrong order, wrong or lack of names and general fails that might be here.
Here I have the first units to sell of Openmoko WikiReader and the Wikipedia in spanish, Wikireader comes with english Wikipedia with more than 3 million articles already bundled in the box, spanish wikipedia has about half million articles To obtain the spanish wikipedia you have three methods:
Due itenacionalization on the device in on the way and is posible to run other apps , another way to improve the software is to be able to include image on it , taking in considreation the difficulty to do it on the limitations of the device 1bit of color (Black/White) and 240x208 pixels resolution, below I have selected a few random image from the Wikipedia using the Random Article special page and I have tried to tranform them to the format understandable to the device (pbm format) in the hypothetical situation it has an already included image viewer than allows to do vertical scroll , so all images has a with of 240 pixels. I think the results are quite promising due the process is the same for all image with same parameters and results are quite good to be the first attempt.
Thanks to Thomas HOCEDEZ and his blogto discover some "hidden" menus, well if anything can be hidden when you can access to the source code :P , To access this menu/programs you must push one the keys along with the power button when you power on the device
The procces is not full ready yet, it fails due issues on articles with different codding(utf8/Latin1) , and I can just proccess the 40% of the Spanish Wikipedia , but here is a sample of the Spanish Wikipediar Wikipedia running on WikiReader

As they have advised the new Openmoko Inc. device has nothing in common with his previous product the Neo FreeRunner, its an amazing simple idea, a portable Wikipedia reader, the WikiReader.
Some work is to be done both on the server and in the code before we can put it online but we have some screenshoots to show the work in progress, no mockups, the site is running on local on my virtualized debian and the example apps are upladed using the site adminstration :), click on the images to see them full size.
