SAKC, another step to Copyleft Hardware

What is  SAKC?
SAKC is a development board for hardware and software hackers. SAKC has a MIPS processor running at 360MHz, also has an Spartan 3 FPGA. This combination enable many applications like robotics, automation, signal acquisition, and publicity applications. The software is based on Qi-hardware community development, right now there are some distributions available: Openwrt, Debian, Jlime.

Debian runs on the Ben NanoNote!

Thanks to our friends and great supporters at pyneo.org we can announce the availability of a Debian compatible kernel and two different Debian ubi rootfs files. One is a minimal Debian and the other additionally contains everything you need to compile on the Ben.

Qi Hardware Commuity News April 29th

Hey, the second edition of our community news is out. It is divided between news around the Ben NanoNote, SAKC, Milkymist, OpenWrt and miscellaneous items :)

Finally, one of my obsesions since I have a NanoNote in my hands has become true :), Using Ben NanoNote to interact with an Arduino Board, following I descrive the steps I had done to achive it along with a  video clip with the demostration, spiced with a soundtrack of Nanowar of Steel, the event worth the effort  :P

In addition of the developers listde desarrollo, and the spanish list now Qi Hardware has a IRC channel #qi-hardware on freenode.net/ where always is someone to help in technical issues, development tips or any other issue related with Qi-Hardware devices, you can access to this channel directly from your browser using the following link http://webchat.freenode.net/?randomnick=1&channels=qi-hardware.
Also in the wiki , a web forum has been enabled to those more comfortable than mailing lists

How to build a Ben NanoNote image from scratch (HOWTO)


I was doing my own tutorial about how to build a full image, when I realize than there was also one on the Qi-Hardware's wiki :) , so what I done is to translate it to Spanish in there , but as I have one lovely penguin ready for the post would be a pity not use it. So today post is in the edge of microblogging :P
