Arduino Ethernet, Arduino Mega ADK, and a lot more in I Arduino Virtual Camp (Campus Party)

Season is open :) on Campus Party de Valencia were the  I Arduino Virtualcamp will take place,  David Cuartielles , among a lot of other things, will present the new Arduino Boards
This gonna be an Arduinmaniacs' summer in Tuxbrain, we are glad to announce that the  boards  Arduino Ethernet, Arduino MEGA ADK and  Tinkerkit are already  available to pre-order on  Tuxbrain shop and that will start shipping on 13th July, catch yours now! the GPRS/GSM Shields announced in the Arduino Conectado event also on Campus Party, soon

A Free and Open Replacement for Wireless LAN

That's it we have done it! if you have followed the series of post  "We will put wireless on NanoNote" (I) & (II) , you will be happy to know that we have finish to produce the first batch of atben/atusb boards to enable wireless communication between Ben NanoNote and whatever thing running Linux and having a USB host. In spite of there is work to be be done yet on the software stack The driver level code for 802.15.4 has been demo'd. A production test program is working which verifies that a board is not severly compromised. There are a small number of programs to send and receive data. However, there's still a lot to do in order to have a useable 6LoWpan stack but at least now we have hardware available to develop on it :)

You have them available right now on the Tuxbrain's shop, more info inside the post

We will put wireless on NanoNote(II)

We have already recived the PCB boards of the AtBen and AtUSB, what is this? if you don't know the anwer please take a look to our previous post We will put wireless on NanoNote, we also already send some of this boards to the SMT factory to let them start to ironing the components. Once we know the definitive delivery date we will start the pre-order process. Stay tunned!
You can see more images of the PCB boards inside the post

Ardupollo!!!... digo..

We will put wireless on NanoNote

We start to feel comfortable on this of producing hardware, so after our positive experienceo with the UBB, Tuxbrain will produce the AtBen y AtUSB to enchance NanoNote with  802.15.4 WPAN wireless capabilities, this post is to announce that production has already started, and first units will be ready on mid/end May.
The avobe pictures are the prototypes made by the skilled hands of  Werner Almesberger , who has already reported comunication between two Ben Nanonotes using the stack of linux-zigbee project.
A carlification wireless is not WI FI , on Qi Hardware we don't go a step forward if is not towards freedom, and sadly there is no real free hardware alternative on 802.11(Wi-Fi) yet, so we decide to desing and produce a total copyleft hardware for 802.15.4 (Wireless Personal Area Network WPAN) for protocols based on it like 6LoWPAN or Zigbee, from our part we will focus on 6LoWPAN due is protocol  open, free and under the standards of the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force)

All production (PCB+SMT) will be done in Spain :)

More info once the prototypes arrive in our hands :)

Ardunote project: Arduino + NanoNote

On Tuxbrain, thanks to the Qi-Hardware , AVRFreaks communities and to the little UBB board, we have successfully flash an Arduino board from Ben NanoNote without need of external power, directly connecting a cable from the NanoNote 8:10 bay to the ICSP header on Arduino, also without need of bootloader in the Atmega328 chip, in fact NanoNote can flash the bootloaders :), and in theory Nanonote can flash whatever  avrdude compatible chip without need of any board (untested yet). Making the little Ben the first AVR microcontroller programmer in the world able to edit the source code, building it, listen music or play Supertux at same time, in same device, not bad for only 99€ ;)
From this starting point, we have founded a project called, in a fit of originality, ArduNote, that has as goal make the NanoNote a (even more) useful tool for Arduino and the rest of the AVR family. Right now is less more than a mission statement but in that wiki page we will try to collect all available information related to interaction between this two free(as freedom) hardware platforms, for now enjoy the video demo , and if you decide to jump in , if you buy a NanoNote and a Arduino we will include for free a UBB board and the components needed (cable, ICSP connector and schottky diode) to make the cable than appears in the video

We enlarge our product offer with "standard" devices

As we have pointed in our pre-fosdem video, on Tuxbrain we are moving to enlarge the product offer of our  webshop , now we have included more than 400 computer and electronics devices.

NanoNote's first (and basic) addon UBB

UBB stands for Universal Breakout Board is a tiny PCB in 8:10 form factor that expose the 8 contacts of the NanoNote 8:10 card slot allowing to connect to other devices, modules, or DIY things without need to solder directly on the NanoNote PCB.

Now collecting preorders
Estimated shipping day 5th March 2011

Bruselas, Europe's capital

Where cars goes backwards and Russian is spoken at bars ... and also put mules in your chips.
Right, any of this has any sense, but who cares, we have a clear objective, enjoy this year knowing in advance we have one, our little stand on FOSDEM 2011, before we go to the photos(video on later post as usual) I want to thank all who have visit our stand to wave, both the new ones an those who repeat, thanks to FOSDEM organization, the make us feel like home, thanks to our friends of Hackable Devices to let us that valuable  piece of table, boys and girls on Qi Hardware for crating such wonderful marvels that are   NanoNote , Milkymist  and the next ones to come, to developers of Jlime, to SDGSystems to let us the valuable and powerful Nomad and Yuma and show the world Linux can be secure inside and barely indestructible on outside, also to hundred of people that ask us if NanoNote has Wifi ,why it don't have, and when it will have it, I had miss the count around the 267 but also thank you to them too. Thanks to all followers, costumers, curious, developers, collaborators, family and friends to make us able be there one more time. Photos on inside the post.
